Savings & Loans tops the nation

Equal opportunity gong for credit union

"Being an equal opportunity employer means a lot more than having maternity leave or flexible working hours – it’s about embedding equality within a business.”

“This award is great recognition of the continued hard work our credit union has put into being a truly equal opportunity employer.”

Savings & Loans has been named the Leading Organisation for the Advancement of Women in the 2009 Business Achievement Awards, run by the Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Agency (EOWA).

The award recognises the programs and culture that Savings & Loans has fostered to encourage the participation of women at all levels of its business.

“Being an equal opportunity employer means a lot more than having maternity leave or flexible working hours – it’s about embedding equality within a business,” said Chief Executive Peter Evers.

“The culture within Savings & Loans is one that places men and women on equal footings and offers the support that all our staff need to work at their best.

“Of course, there are also formal programs to support women at the credit union, including up to 26 weeks of paid maternity leave, job share and working from home options.

“This award is great recognition of the continued hard work our credit union has put into being a truly equal opportunity employer.”

Savings & Loans also offers up to four weeks of paid bonding leave for non-primary caregivers.
