Savings & Loans has partnered with Habitat for Humanity to fund the building of two homes for members and their families.
Habitat for Humanity is a not for profit organisation that builds simple, decent, affordable houses in partnership with low income families in need of a hand up.
Savings & Loans will finance Habitat during the building stage of the homes and supply volunteer labour to help with the construction and reduce costs. The Solar Shop and Conservation Volunteers Australia will make sure the houses are environmentally friendly.

Two homes will be built and offered to members through Savings & Loans Habitat for Humanity partnership.
The successful applicants will be those determined most in need by Habitat for Humanity’s Family Selection Committee.
The Family Selection Committee’s decision is final.
All Savings & Loans members are eligible, however they must meet the criteria set by Habitat for Humanity.
If the successful applicant is eligible for the Government’s First Homebuyers Grant, it may be used.
The price of the house will be determined by the cost to build and will include an independent valuation when the home is completed.
Complete details, including plans for the houses, will be provided at the information night in August 2008. Attendance is a pre-requisite for applying to purchase one of the homes.
