Savings & Loans experienced another excellent year highlighted by solid growth and the culmination of a number of major projects.
Doing the right things for the right reasons has always been a core belief at the Credit Union and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has become an increasingly strong focus for the organisation during the past five years.
This year, we received the first recognition that we're heading in the right direction with outstanding results in the Corporate Responsibility Index (CRI). It's the first year we've participated in this CSR measure and we achieved a total score of 81% (silver star rating) as well as winning the Best New Entrant award, ahead of companies such as Hewlett Packard, Caltex and Unilever. We were delighted with the result. This independent measure of Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives was confirmation that the hard work we had invested into balancing our corporate objectives with the needs of the community, had made an impact. Most importantly, it highlighted areas for improvement which we can work towards to ensure we are playing our part in a sustainable future.
Another major highlight of the year was winning Money Magazine's Credit Union of the Year and Personal Lender of the Year awards for the second successive year. These awards recognise that we've been able to meet the needs of our members by creating products which deliver great value. These quality products are backed by the fantastic service provided by the Credit Union's staff, impacting directly on our members' experience when they deal with us.
